Grounds Maintenance at The Old Church Tower

Countryside Care, a voluntary branch of the Camping and Caravanning club have been doing valuable work bringing the grounds around the Old Church Tower back under control. This photo shows the tower in 2003 when it had almost disappeared from view.

The grounds underwent major maintenance work in 2006 to clear a number of dead and self seeded trees and shrubs and to crown lift the two foreground yew trees to reveal a better view of the Tower.

In addition to the work by Countryside Care,  general grass cutting and maintenance has been undertaken by members of the Society committee.
At the same time as the tomb restoration a section of the chevron boundary wall was successfully rebuilt to remove a structural bulge.
