Sir Paul Smith Visit
Sir Paul Smith made an informal visit to the Tower and grounds on the 15th of May 2009. He was much impressed with the project work to date and particularly enjoyed the seats. In his letter he said:
"It is really fantastic to see how the work has turned an overgrown rundown Tower and grounds into something that is a real asset to the village and a welcome place to view, picnic and meet people. In these current times I think it is extremely important for a community to pull together and I hope you will be successful with your application for Heritage Lottery funding as securing these funds would obviously enable you to continue your restoration and be of enormous benefit to Bramcote."
He spent about three quarters of an hour at the site and chatted with ease and interest to the small group of Friends, sculptor Andy Smith and Jason Mordan, Conservation Officer, Notts. County Council. Click on one of the small photos at the bottom to see it full size.
